Behind Servomold
Technology of tomorrow to touch
Impressions from Hall A2: Our major trade fair appearance of the year was all about Servomold's new control generation, strong partners and neighbors at the stand, and forward-thinking for plastic injection molding.
United forces at the joint booth with Feller Engineering.
In October 2023, a team of five set off for our major trade show of the year in Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance - the venue for one of the most important trade fairs in our industry: Fakuma. From October 17th to 21st, our company was also present there with a booth, exhibits, and prototypes. The mission this year? Hands-on innovation with the brand-new SMC control units for testing, as well as the market launch of new SLA linear actuators.
But not only Servomold had product innovations in its luggage: Feller Engineering GmbH, with whom we maintain a close collaboration and partnership, joined forces with us for a joint booth. The booth, divided into two sides, also showcased the jointly developed SMC-Feller combination control for hot runner and servo applications.

Among the new developments presented this year were the SLA and SSA series of compact linear actuators and worm gear actuators, which have been perfected in various versions for a wide range of slider, core, or plate movements in injection molds and are already in use by customers such as Wild & Küpfer AG or Avenue Mold Solutions.

The left side of the booth was dominated by the prototypes of the new Servo MoldControl (SMC) control unit. Here, visitors could experience the new components in action up close for the first time. For demonstration purposes, both linear sliding and precise rotational movements were simulated. Real-time feedback on the movement process was displayed on the control panels with screens. Although just a preview, our prototypes managed to impress many visitors, and we are also excited about this milestone on the path to the planned market launch in 2024.

Even the visitors are thinking about tomorrow today.
With topics such as modern, intuitive control and powerful servo-electric execution of linear movements, we have struck a chord with many visitors this year, as the topic of electric automation has long since arrived in the minds and production halls. There is a desire for efficient, modern solutions that conserve resources and function smoothly for a long time.
Processes and production environments are being automated and electrified at every corner to withstand economic conditions and competitive pressure. For us, this means continuing to keep up with the times, continuing to think ahead, and finding the ideal solution in every project.
In this sense, after four days of the trade fair, we were able to draw a successful conclusion and then return to our work routine full of motivation. We would like to thank our colleagues from Feller, all visitors, and of course the hard-working trade fair team. We look forward to presenting new innovations again at Fakuma 2024.
