Unscrewing unit with spur gear: direct power transmission for one cavity
The single-cavity unscrewing unit with spur gear unscrews a single internal thread directly in the injection mould. The spur gear transmits the servo motor's torque to the threaded core without 90° deflection – resulting in high concentricity and higher torque capacity. The unit operates servo-electrically and therefore oil-free: suitable for cleanrooms and medical technology, without a hydraulic power unit, hoses or couplings.
It is the standard design in the range of servo-electric unscrewing units from Servomold and is designed ready-to-install to customer requirements.
Single cavity, large threads, prototypes: the application range of the single unit
The single-cavity unscrewing unit is the right choice when a mould demoulds a single cavity with an internal thread – typically with large thread diameters that require high torques on a single core.It has also proven itself for prototype and small-series moulds: the motion profile is set up on the single cavity and can later be transferred to multi-cavity moulds.
Various mounting options allow the drive unit to adapt to the installation position in the mould.
Spur gear instead of worm gear: high torque on parallel axes
Compared with the worm gear, the spur gear transmits the force directly and with higher efficiency – the first choice when torque and concentricity matter more than minimal space requirements. If, however, the drive has to be offset by 90° into tight installation spaces, or several cavities are to be unscrewed simultaneously, the unscrewing unit with worm gear (4-cavity) is the right alternative.
In both designs, positioning is repeatable without an end stop.

FAQ – frequently asked questions
A single-cavity unscrewing unit is the right fit when a mould demoulds exactly one cavity with an internal thread. It plays to its strengths particularly with large thread diameters requiring high torque as well as with prototype and small-series moulds; the established motion profile can later be transferred to multi-cavity moulds.
